Golden Milk Porridge

I love golden milk, it is like a hug in a mug.

Not only is it delicious but also filled with nutrients, especially from the Ayurvedic super-spice, turmeric. I decided one day to try the flavour combo for brekkie and made a delicious porridge bowl out of it. Filled with powerful spices and natural sweetness, it is the perfect breakfast bowl.

Serves 1:

Golden Milk Oats
  • 50g oats, soaked overnight in 100ml water (soaking is optional)
  • 1/2 grated zucchini
  • 150-200ml almond milk (depending on desired consistency)
  • 1/2 banana, mashed
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • tiny pinch of black pepper
  • Nut butter, fresh fruit, dark chocolate etc. to top

Add the oats, zucchini and almond milk to a saucepan over a medium heat. Bring to boil and reduce to a simmer, stirring. Stir in spices and mashed banana. Cook to desired consistency and pour into a bowl. Top with whatever you please.
