Balance Festival - My Thoughts
I recently attended Balance Festival and I was in my element.
Healthy food, fitness and inspirational people everywhere.
Was it worth a visit?
Jumping right in to my favourite topic… the amazing food at the festival. As you wander into the building, the first, gigantic, room you will see is filled with an ocean of food stalls. Healthy food or drink samples at each stall, heaven right? There was so many incredible goodies on offer and I tasted basically EVERYTHING, it’s safe to say I was happily full during the festival days.
It is so hard to pick my fave things I tasted but I will narrow them down to my top 5:
- Chick P Hummus; so creamy and flavourful with different flavours such as beet and horseradish and turmeric (my fave)
- Ozone Banana Bread; comes loaded with fresh banana, crunchy nuts, seeds and banana chips as well as healthy jam… INCREDIBLE.
- Rude Health Cornitas; these chickpea popped chips are so tasty and have a perfect crunch.
- Raw Press Raw Treats; think vegan millionaires shortbread, donuts and brownies, yep you read that right!
- Mindful Bites Nut Butter; these are luscious. Smooth, sweet and so delicious.
The festival is all about balance, so I had to balance out my excessive sample consuming with some fitness, right?! Just kidding but I was eager to try a few of the classes on offer and I am very glad that I did.
My favourite class of the weekend was definitely the HIIT VS Dance workout with Zanna Van Dijk and Healthy Chef Steph. There was so much energy in the room and I had a blast. At the end of the workout I was dripping in sweat and filled with good vibes.
I went to loads of different talks over the weekend on all topics: food, fitness, careers and more. Each panel was filled with the best of the best in each field. Talking fitness with Zanna, Faisal, Jamie Ray and Twice The Health. Talking Plants with Venetia, Zanna and Form Nutrition. As well as careers in health and fitness with The Food Medic, Deliciously Ella, Shona Vertue, Alice Liveing, Carly Rowena and Zanna.
The whole line up for all of these talks was amazing and everyone was so friendly and truly inspiring to me.
Overall as you can probably tell from this blog I had the most amazing weekend, I didn’t stop smiling once. I met some of my idols in the blogger world (Zanna Van Dijk, Carly Rowena, Venetia Falconer and Kelsey Wells to name a few). I ate some ( A LOT OF ) incredible food, sweated my but off in classes and was inspired by the talks.
I highly recommend Balance Festival, it was amazing value for money and just a wonderful weekend of fun.
